Some happenings from this summer:
Cousin love
Dress up at Grandma and Grandpa's
He only cared about the ice cream.
We had a great 4th of July this year where we spent the whole day swimming, eating, and doing fireworks with our friends and their kids. The boys had a BLAST.
Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-a aka "chicken and fries" and pretty much our favorite place.
My sweet minion turned 2!! He does not seem 2 to me, and I really, really want him to stay this age forever. He's the smartest, funniest little thing with tons of personality just like his big brother. Just looking at him and hearing his sweet voice puts me in a better mood.
Pioneer Day at the Callahan's farm was FANTASTIC, as always. The kids trekked along the farm, stopping in different "states" and completing different tasks there (feeding animals, washing clothes, bundling sticks, etc). At the end, they arrived at the Great Salt Lake (the pool) where we ate a fabulous dinner and the kids played in the pool.
After a scary situation involving a ceiling fan. (Bruise not from said situation)
Cade and my dad were playing with the tennis balls on either side of the pool table. Reece was jumping on the trampoline that is barely seen in the left hand corner. The fan was on. I saw the fan start to fall (unprovoked) so I screamed. The scream scared Reece causing him to hit his face against the edge of the pool table as he was jumping and fall face down onto the floor. All at the exact time the fan was crashing down and glass spewing everywhere. We all thought the fan was what hit him and made him fall. Reece was screaming horrifically, and I was scared to death to turn him over because I was worried what I might find. I knew glass had to be all in his face, and I was so worried about his eyes. However, after quickly taking him in my arms, I was instantly relieved to see he only had a gash under his lip. I've always been grateful to have a doctor as a dad and was very glad he was there. He examined the gash and said it wasn't caused from glass (that must have been the part of his face that hit the table). Even still when we talk about this instant, we are in complete shock that there was not any glass in his body whatsoever. There is no doubt that he should have had a ton of it in his face. I am so very grateful for the protection given to my babies in that moment that day.
Cade's first time getting up on the knee board by himself! I will admit, this made me very nervous. If only I figured out earlier that you can zoom in with your fingers on the phone.
Did you forget something Grandma?
We were able to go to the beach for a quick trip again this summer! The boys just love, love the beach (as do I).
Reece does not like to be touched in the pool (unless he's jumping to you). He wants to swim all by himself. His little head poking out of that big pool while his legs kick like crazy is so cute.
On the way home
Grandma and Grandpa had all the grand kids over to camp in the backyard. They LOVED it.
I was told Reece ate like 2 1/2 of those babies.
Cade on his first day of "big kid school". We found out he was accepted into the Pre-K program 2 days before school started. It was a huge relief, and he absolutely loves it. When I ask him about his day, he always says, "It was great!" or, "It was super duper great!!". School has been so good for him.
Reece and Jayden watching Cade and Jax play.
With the start of school, also brings the start of soccer! This year Cade is playing at Huntsville Futbol Club. Within 20 seconds of the first practice, it was obvious that HFC is 20 million times better than where he was playing before. Reece is also happy to have a friend to play with during practice (and so am I so I don't have to wrestle and chase an angry kid who just wants to go on the field the whole time). Our friends Joel and Desiree moved into town this summer from Louisiana. It's great to be able to spend more time with them, and our boys really enjoy their boys.
Riding in Nonni's new car. Weeee!
Daddy made a homemade blow-up man.
Daddy made a huge fort.
WOOHOO, we finally gave our kitchen a face lift! I spend so much time in the kitchen, and it just feels so much better in there now.

New counter tops, sink, faucet, disposal, paint, and hardware makes a big difference. Some decorating still needs to be done, but that will come in time. Unless, I miraculously find some amazing stuff at a garage sale. Because that's how I roll.
With Cade getting into Pre-K, we decided to take our house off of the market for several months and put it back up around February-ish. Now, I can relax a little bit (but not really), and go find all the stuff that I need that is packed up in the garage...
