Coupons

So, as of a few months ago, I am absolutely obsessed with coupons and getting extremely amazing good deals with them at the supermarkets. Literally, I eat, sleep, breathe coupons. And if you don't think coupons do that much to your total besides take a few cents off here or a dollar there, you are WRONG! I know that many of you are already actively saving extreme amounts of money like I am so this is not news for you. But for those of you who don't do this yet, you have to start because it is amazing!

To get started understanding how this process works, go to: southernsavers.com and click on "getting started guides" at the top (that is if you live in the South. Other regions, I believe, have their own websites, I just don't know them). She will explain everything.

The 2 places where I usually use all my coupons are Publix and Kroger because they have by far the best deals. That's right- I did not say Wal-mart. I have learned Wal-mart is only good for those things that you can't get on sale at the other stores. This week Kroger is having ridiculous sales and I purchased $115 worth of groceries for $35!! There weren't as many deals at Publix last week so I only got $28 worth of groceries for $6. However, that is still incredible savings. I usually save an average of 60% or more on my bill. This has really been a great way for us to start building up our food storage a lot quicker than we thought we would be able to. We are able to get many items for just pennies or for free.

My mother-in-law and I always do our couponing together and always joke about it being our mormon version of a high!

I LOVE coupons too. There is nothing more satisfying then getting a good deal. Sometimes I like to wait to give them my shoppers card at the end so I can see my total go way down!

You'll have to talk to me about this if we get together next weekend when you're in Birmingham. I've been to that website but still have some questions. Thanks again for coming to the shower!

My mom is the original coupon queen and has been doing it long before it became "cool". I leanred how to save TONS of money on groceries from her, and you're right, Publix is the best place (around me anyway) to save the most. It is like a high!
